How Tips Work

In an effort to keep our communities safe, Crimestoppers of the Upper Ohio Valley is asking residents and citizens to anonymously report illegal activities and crimes. Crimestoppers Upper Ohio Valley is a tipline you can call to report criminal activity.

The Wheeling Police Department and Belmont County Sheriffs Office are now working together with nonprofit “Information Helpline” and will give cash rewards when a tip leads to an arrest or solving of a crime.

Crime tips will only be received by calling phone number 833-4-TIPLINE. Your call will remain confidential and anonymous.

How Payouts Work

When you contact our tipline and provide information on a case, you have the ability to staff anonymous. Our team reviews the tip and passes the information along to the authorities working the case.

If the tip leads to a successful arrest or helps solve the case, cash rewards will be paid out to those who give us follow-up information (name/phone).

Your identity will always remain confidential and this information is only used to help provide payout from Crimestoppers Upper Ohio Valley. Your name and information will remain anonymous to those involved in the investigation.
